The technical requirements of the steel grating are mainly as follows: According to the requirements of the purchaser, the steel grating can be delivered without wrapping. The steel grid edging shall be single-sided fillet welding with a welding height not less than the thickness of the load-bearing flat steel, and the length of the weld shall not be less than 4 times the thickness of the load-bearing flat steel. In the case that the steel grating does not accept the load, the corresponding distance between 4 load-bearing flat steels is generally welded at one place, but the distance shall not be greater than 150mm.

The steel grating cannot be welded at intervals when the edging plate is under load. At the same time, the edging board in the same direction as the load-bearing flat steel must be welded to each crossbar. If the steel grating is cut off or opened during the interval welding, the hole exceeds 180mm, it shall be edge-wrapped. The end plates of the stair treads shall be fully welded on one side at least. If the stair treads have front edge edging guards, it is necessary to run through all the steps.

The load-bearing flat steel is most common with rectangular cross-section flat steel and I-shaped cross-section steel. Of course, there are other types of steel with several cross-sections. The load-bearing flat steel of the steel grating and the toothed flat steel can have the anti-skid effect, but there should be no less than 5 teeth per 100mm. The minimum width of the steel grille on the platform walkway should not be less than 300mm.
